Coachella 2018 Street Style

Every year in Spring, I look forward to seeing all the street styles of Coachella's music festival. The influx of people and celebrities into Glastonbury is such a sight and that boho chic, hippie, flower power vibe is recreated year after year.

As a waldorf teacher, this is also the time when we prepare to celebrate May Day Beautiful spring flowers are weaved into garlands that adorn our heads and  we dance around the May pole in celebration of Springtime. However in Singapore, I have yet to experience this.

So before the Coachella festival ends on 22 April 2018, I wanted to share my look for this year's Coachella festival. Being bold and feeling a little " exposed" I styled this inner lingerie piece with a button down H&M dress as my outerwear and paired with my cut off denim shorts. And if we were to go hippie than no footwear would be the way to go.

It was pouring outside so I had to take this shot somehow indoors but I hope you still like this fun look.

Batam Green :: Paperbag Pants and Circle Straw Bag

A quick weekend getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday, our upcoming 18th Wedding Anniversary and to celebrate our Easter holidays. Being only a 45 mins ferry ride away from Singapore, and seeing that the last I had ventured to this little Indonesian island of Batam was at least almost 20 yrs ago, we decided on this destination for our quick trip.

So bags packed, and doggies off to boarding, we arranged for a quick getaway not sure what to expect from this little quaint island.

Of course, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Batam as it had so much to offer within it's hotel premises from food, beautiful spa treatments operated by Tea Tree Spa and of course, the beautiful and expansive hotel grounds with landscaped gardens and a large swimming pool. There was an in-house sports bar, teppanyaki restaurant, games room filled with foosball, pool, billiard, chess ( you name it they got it) and of course a very large Gym and outdoor trampoline, table tennis and tennis court for the active ones. There was also an in-house kids club which was manned by the staff so mom and dad could sneak away for a quick massage or spa treatment not having to worry about finding someone to babysit.

Lazing by the pool hut after swimming a couple of laps, I enjoyed my pina colada and snuggled amongst the cushion for a nice read of the magazines and books I brought along with me. Funny enough the weather was nice and breezy and certainly not as humid as in Singapore at this time of the year.

And so a couple of outfit shots later, we dashed for a quick massage to unwind and relax.

Let me know if you wish to find out more about the facilities at the Holiday Inn Resort Batam - we definitely will be back again for more!

Spring 2018 Hottest Trend :: Ice Cream Colours

Ice cream colours is Spring 2018 hottest colour trends. Pleasant and certainly soothing and refreshing ( no pun intended..) to the eye, I decided to pair Spring's hottest shades this weekend exploring Haji Lane, nestled in the muslim quarters of Singapore

A whimsical hipster neighbourhood with quaint and stand alone boutiques, cafe, bars and restaurants - its a definite must-stop tourist destination if you are visiting Singapore. Delicacies and cuisines both local and international tickle the tastebuds of many. You can most certainly enjoy a lovely meal of kebabs whilst if I am not mistaken ( with a license) some restaurants still do offer Shisha smoking at their outlets.

After walking through the narrow streets and taking in the culture and smells of this lovely enclave, I had to end the day with a nice ice cold beer!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

De-clutter Your Closet - Easy and Clean ( Guest Post )

A cluttered closet can sure mess with one’s head. Every once in a while someone will open their closet and get “knocked out” by all the piled up clothes they have thrown on top of each other. This will be followed by digging through to find what they want to wear on that day. And boy, does it get tedious sometimes.

Commonly, people wear very few different combinations of attire and one or two types of domestic, comfortable clothing. Alongside that, we transition two or three times a year with our choice of wardrobe, whether it be season inspired or simply, change of taste. Considering all of that, a lot of people don’t wear that many clothes, and yet, the closets are cluttered and overflowing. With that said, it’s time to think about a little wardrobe makeover to lift the weight off your shoulders. We are here to offer you some tips on how to clean and organise your closet!

Make sure that you take out absolutely everything out of the closet. This way, you can start rebuilding and cleaning from the ground up. With every piece of clothing you take out, make sure to give it a good look to be sure it’s not worn out, damaged or gotten a little too tight for you. Also, go ahead and try on some of the things you pull out of the closet. Thus underlining that you are absolutely certain what you want to do with this piece. Boiling down to the most necessary, stylish and topical articles, put aside the ones that you didn’t find purpose or value in and consider donating them or throwing them away.

Going over everything that has been taken out of the closet in such matter will solidify a whole new view of your closet. Instead of it looking like as if every piece of clothing is trying to push itself out to take a deep breath, there will be a refreshing open, clutter free space where the clothes feel like they are on vacation.

Clothes, shoes and accessories aren’t the only items people tend to keep in their closets. It’s certainly common to put away a box of photos or toys in there, but then these are things that don’t belong there. Cleaning your closet from all unnecessary items is a good start! There are certain places for certain things. Such objects, for example, include books, school supplies, items that are no longer of use. Those items are better off to be out of the closet. Anything beyond what is considered as part of a person’s wardrobe should be relocated. Don’t use the closet space for the “swipe under the rug” method.

Now you can take some time before you organize it all over again. It’s definitely time to clean it a bit and make it look better. If you like air fresheners, you can hang some in there to make the place smell nicer. The cleaning should be done from the top to the bottom, because you don’t want any dust to be removed from the bottom shelf, and then bury it in dust from the top shelves. Cleaning your closet shouldn’t take a lot of your time and soon you will be able to re-organise it however you want!

Putting everything back should be far more looked into. It’s not the best idea to start grabbing random clothes, putting them on top of one another and chugging them back in the closet. Best advice is to do some categorizing.

The ability to differentiate between two shades of the same color is not an ability every person can do, but at least everyone can tell dark from light and black from white. Start by categorizing all the shirts together, then trousers, jeans, skirts, dresses, jackets and so on. Fold them up and put them back on their shelves and hangers. For the accessories, plan a separate space. Place hats and scarves on hangers that stick to walls. Go out of your way to do some rearranging. When there is more space available in the closet, be mindful, don’t run off and start buying more clothes to fill it up. Let it sit like this and you will be surprised what you can make out from what you already have.

We hope our cleaning and organising tips will be helpful when you find the time to clean and re-organise your closet! Good luck!

Earn Your Stripes

Trolling on Instagram as I normally do, liking and commenting on my favourite Instagrammers' posts, I chanced upon this lovely brand from Philippines - HaloHaloBaby of which their bags and jewellery collection immediately caught my eye. I clicked on their website straight away and got myself this lovely straw bag which I am so in love with. Lucky me as fate would have it, cos when this post was published, the lovely people at HaloHaloBaby was totally sold out on ALL their products and now we await ( patiently!) for their new collection and the return of old favourites so we all can share and trend this beautiful brand!

The wonderful people at Zaful as always, have got the latest trends to the T on their shopping portal and this lovely two piece stripe number was the perfect match for my new straw bag. Even the fish bone hook earrings was a lovely piece to complete this casual weekend look.
